The European TREADS project has released its fourth and final newsletter, highlighting the main achievements, educational resources and outcomes developed to strengthen digital security and resilience in the tourism sector.
As the TREADS (Tourism Resilience Education in Digital Security) project approaches its conclusion, the consortium is pleased to share its fourth newsletter, offering an overview of the results achieved through two years of European collaboration.
Co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, TREADS has brought together partners from Spain, Italy, Greece and Slovenia to address the growing need for digital skills, cybersecurity awareness and resilience among tourism professionals, SMEs, educators and vocational education and training (VET) providers.

This final edition presents the project’s key achievements and the resources developed to support the digital transformation of tourism.
The TREADS E-Learning Platform Is Now Available
One of the project’s main achievements is the launch of its free e-learning platform, offering specialised training resources organised into two complementary learning units:
- Resilience in Tourism: Strengthening the capacity of tourism professionals and organisations to adapt to change and respond to emerging challenges.
- Digital Security in Tourism: Developing awareness and knowledge of digital risks, cybersecurity and the protection of digital environments.
The platform provides flexible learning resources suitable for both independent learning and vocational training activities.
Final Transnational Project Meeting in San Sebastián
The newsletter also looks back at the fourth and final face-to-face Transnational Project Meeting, held on 7–8 October 2026 in Donostia-San Sebastián, Spain.
During the meeting, project partners reviewed the progress achieved, evaluated the main results and coordinated the final activities, with particular attention to dissemination and the long-term sustainability of the project’s outcomes.
Key Project Results and Educational Resources
Newsletter #4 also showcases the main outputs developed throughout the project:
- Best Practices Handbook: A collection of European good practices supporting innovation and digital transformation in vocational education and training.
- European Competence Profile and Training Plan: Resources designed to address emerging digital security and resilience skills in tourism.
- Innovative Training Materials: Flexible educational content that can be adapted to different learning and professional contexts.
- TREADS Digital Library: An open-access collection of educational resources, research materials and good practices.
A Lasting Contribution to European Tourism
Although TREADS is reaching its final stage, its results will continue to support tourism professionals, educators, students and training organisations.
The project’s resources provide opportunities for continued learning, knowledge sharing and the integration of digital security and resilience into tourism education.
